The
Gray
Wolf
rod
is
really
SWEET.
I tried
it
out
in Erie
but
didn't
want
to
beat
it
up
too
bad.
I
hit
a
few
of
my
"secret
spots"
this
weekend. Ohiophyle,
Meadow Run
and
a
private
lake.
What I
would
give
to
trade
this
weather
to
last
weekend.
Roll
casting with
it
is Smooooth.
I'm
thinking
I
will
be
able
to
use
it
in
my
try
out
clinics.
Evil,
Evil,
Evil
Conditions
February
27th-28th.
I arrived
Friday
night.
Saturday
morning
at
the
break
of
dawn,
I
went
to
20
Mile
Creek.
Way
to
high
and
speeding
like
demons,
and
not
very
safe. Next
I
hit
up
16
mile,
not
as
fast,
but
still high
and
slushed.
I cast
for
3
hours
and
got
skunked.
Upper
Walnut
was
next
on
my
relentless
hit
list, and
she
was
still
slushed
up
and
I
only
had
one
hook
up. The
mouth
of
Lower
Elk
was
the
last
stop
of
the
day,
the
water
was
slushed.
After
talking
to a
couple
of
guys
that
were
as
much
out
of
their
mind
as I
am,
they
only
observed
3
hook
ups
all
day!
Sunday
it
was
back
to
Lower
Elk
and
hoping
for
better
conditions,
only to
find it
ice
jammed,
with
temps
near
-7......ouch...Mother
Nature
was
so
da**
evil
everything
froze!
including
my
camera :(
!! ....On
to
Girard
large
ice
flows,
yet
some
what
fishable
for
the
more
determined,
not going
to
give
up type
of
person,
hmmmm,
wonder
who
that
could
be?
One
hookup
broke
off
on
the
ice. Ice was
constantly
on
the
move and slicing
line like
razors.
Eyes
on
the
rod froze,
and
my
line
froze
solid.
Wind
was
howling
fiercely,
and
after
4
hours
of
snapping
line
on
the
ice,
wind
taking
your
breath
away,
frozen
extremities,
and
frozen
equipment,
I
was
forced
to
surrender
to
the
elements.
I
won't
say
defeated...only
delayed
in
my
mission
to
Stalk
the
Steelhead......I
will
be
back.
Thank
You
Herb
&
Graywolf!

"Hey
Justin
on a
lighter
note,
and
this
is
just
an
observation
on
my
part
but
maybe,
just
maybe,
you
were
cold
because
YOU
FORGOT
to
bring
your
jacket,
and
gloves
or
insulation??"
Congratulations
Man!
